A solution for managing the chaos

Eliittikatot Oy has been building roofs for Finnish homes for 25 years.

Eliittikatot has been using the Rossum Works system since 2011. Works is an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system developed by Rossum Oy for companies in industries such as renovation.

The sales team was the first to adopt the pricing system. At the beginning of 2012, supervisors and installers were also brought into the system. Today, all Eliittikatot employees use it. The company currently employs nearly 100 people, including subcontractors.

With Works, Eliittikatot manages the entire supply chain—from sales to final invoicing. Sales representatives prepare quotes on-site using the quotation tool. Thanks to the browser-based system, the quote and order backlog can be monitored in real time, regardless of time or location. There is no longer any need for Excel spreadsheets.

The system also makes it easy to manage sales commissions, installers’ contracts, and other payroll data. Both invoicing and payroll information are transferred via an electronic interface to the Talenom Online system. The installers’ user interface is specifically designed for smartphones, which every installer carries today.

When a customer decides to order a renovation, work orders are automatically generated from the order. Supervisors then schedule these and assign them to in-house installers and subcontractors. Calendar functions make task allocation easier.

“At the beginning, our delivery schedules were kept in a calendar at our Lahti office. Now schedules are continuously updated in Rossum Works, making order backlog and capacity visible to users anytime, anywhere. This has significantly reduced phone calls and unnecessary coordination. Orders to suppliers are also sent directly from the system,” says Markku Kamula.

Savings, reliability, and transparency

Since implementing the Works system, Eliittikatot has nearly tripled its revenue without increasing the number of office staff. However, more installers have been recruited as the company has grown. Kamula estimates that the system generates annual savings equivalent to approximately two full-time employees.

“Pricing is always accurate—for both customers and employees (contracts and commissions). This builds trust among both staff and customers. With the system in place, we have been able to automate and eliminate many unnecessary steps, freeing up time for sales work.”
